Who we are

Regional Science Centre, established in the Temple city of Bhubaneswar, was dedicated to the nation on 18 September 1989 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Janaki Ballabh Patnaik. The Centre is a key constituent unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The Centre aims at inculcating scientific temper and popularizing science & technology amongst people of all walks of life, students in particular ,in the state of Odisha through Science & Technology exhibitions, Science demonstrations, Mobile Science Exhibitions, training, workshops etc.

Visitors can explore the fascinating world of Science through the interactive galleries in the centre i.e. Motion gallery, Mathematics gallery, and Mirror Gallery. Additionally, the centre provides an outdoor learning exposure through open-air Science Park which has numerous interactive outdoor exhibits. If you want to explore the prehistoric era and are curious to know more about the Dinosaurs, then step into the Dinosaur Theme Park which provides an immersive experience in a beautiful forest-like environment along with the sighting of large size pre-historic creatures. For a dynamic experience, you can also visit the park during evening hours and watch the giant animated dinosaur models synchronized with an immersive storytelling light-and-sound show.
